Domestic building activity – City of Greater Geelong

Number and value of all domestic permits

A total of 28 domestic permits were issued in the City of Greater Geelong in June 2017, a decrease of 7.0% compared to the previous month and a decrease of 2.9% compared to June 2016.

The value of domestic permits in June 2017 was $80.3m, a decrease of 11.5% compared to the previous month and a decrease of 0.2% compared to June 2016.

Number and value of new dwelling approvals

A total of 197 new dwelling approvals were issued in the City of Greater Geelong in June 2017, a decrease of 27.6% compared to the previous month and a decrease of 31.6% compared to June 2016.

The value of new dwelling approvals in June 2017 was $60m, a decrease of 25.0% compared to the previous month and a decrease of 15.5% compared to June 2016.

Non-domestic building activity – City of Greater Geelong

Number and value of non-domestic building permits

A total of 43 non-domestic building permits were issued in the City of Greater Geelong in June 2017, a decrease of 25.8% compared to the previous month yet an increase of 2.4% (one permit) compared to June 2016.

The value of non-domestic building permits was $46.7m in June 2017, a decrease of 25.3% compared to the previous month yet an increase of 45.0% compared to June 2016.

The larger value permits for June were; School extensions in Ryrie St for $19m, Leopold community hub stage 2 for $6.9m, New library and learning centre in Herne Hill for $5m, Student Accommodation in Brougham St stage 7 for $3.5m, 10 Unit complex stage 2 for $2.6m, Child Care Centre for $2.2m, Flinders Peak sports pavilion for $1.8m, Refit of residential building for $1.3m, Warehouse development stage 2 for $1.25m, Child care centre for $1.1m.
