Domestic building activity – City of Greater Geelong

Number and value of all domestic permits

A total of 483 domestic permits were issued in the City of Greater Geelong in August 2017, a decrease of -0.2% (1 permit) compared to the previous month yet an increase of 16.7% compared to September 2016.

The value of domestic permits in September 2017 was $87.8m, an increase of 4.2% compared to the previous month and an increase of 19.3% compared to September 2016.

Number and value of new dwelling approvals

A total of 269 new dwelling approvals were issued in the City of Greater Geelong in September 2017, an increase of 8.5% compared to the previous month and an increase of 4.0% compared to September 2016.

The value of new dwelling approvals in September 2017 was $78m, an increase of 4.0% compared to the previous month and an increase of 23.8% compared to September 2016.

Non-domestic building activity – City of Greater Geelong

Number and value of non-domestic building permits

A total of 56 non-domestic building permits were issued in the City of Greater Geelong in September 2017, an increase of 12.0% compared to the previous month and an increase of 3.7% September 2016.

The value of non-domestic building permits was $48.4m in September 2017, a decrease of 37.8% compared to the previous month yet an increase of 39.3% compared to September 2016.

Permits of note for September are; Stage 2 & 3 of aged care facility in Norlane for $14m , Stage 4 Malop St development for $5m,  School alterations for $2.7m, Vic Police Station redevelopment stages 1& 2 for $2.4m, 3 store Office Development in Moorabool St (stage 3 )for $2.4m, Supermarket refurbishment for $1m.
