Domestic building activity – City of Greater Geelong

Number and value of all domestic permits

A total of 506 domestic permits were issued in the City of Greater Geelong in November 2017, an increase of 13.6% compared to the previous month and an increase of 12.4% compared to November 2016.

The value of domestic permits in November 2017 was $86.0m, an increase of 0.8% compared to the previous month and an increase of 2.0% compared to November 2016.

Number and value of new dwelling approvals

A total of 265 new dwelling approvals were issued in the City of Greater Geelong in November 2017, an increase of 6.4% compared to the previous month and an increase of 4.7% compared to November 2016.

The value of new dwelling approvals in November 2017 was $75m, an increase of 1.3% compared to the previous month and an increase of 2.7% compared to November 2016.

Non-domestic building activity – City of Greater Geelong

Number and value of non-domestic building permits

A total of 48 non-domestic building permits were issued in the City of Greater Geelong in November 2017, an increase of 6.7% compared to the previous month yet a decrease of 17.2% compared to November 2016.

The value of non-domestic building permits was $32.2m in November 2017, a decrease of 71.8% compared to the previous month yet an increase of 7.3% compared to November 2016.

Permits of note for November are; Deakin Uni Student Accommodation stage 9 for $6.7m, Redevelopment at Geelong Grammar for $5.4m, Warehouse additions in Geelong West for $1.6m, Office alteration in Geelong for $1.4m, Leopold sports pavilion refurbishment for $1.2m..
