Domestic building activity – City of Greater Geelong

Number and value of all domestic permits

A total of 414 domestic permits were issued in the City of Greater Geelong in February 2018, an increase of 40.8% compared to the previous month and an increase of 0.2% compared to February 2017 (1 permit).

The value of domestic permits in February 2018 was $86.3m, an increase of 69.2% compared to the previous month and an increase of 24.0% compared to February 2017.

Number and value of new dwelling approvals

A total of 243 new dwelling approvals were issued in the City of Greater Geelong in February 2018, an increase of 97.6% compared to the previous month and an increase of 8.0% compared to February 2017.

The value of new dwelling approvals in February 2018 was $73m, an increase of 65.9% compared to the previous month and an increase of 21.7% compared to February 2017.

Non-domestic building activity – City of Greater Geelong

Number and value of non-domestic building permits

A total of 48 non-domestic building permits were issued in the City of Greater Geelong in February 2018, an increase of 26.3% compared to the previous month yet a decrease of 93.9% compared to February 2017.

The value of non-domestic building permits was $37.5m in February 2018, an increase of 48.2% compared to the previous month and an increase of 120.6% compared to February 2017.

Permits of note for February 2018 are; Stage 1 of new factory in Corio for $6m, Stage 1 of Apartments for $3m, Alterations and fit out in North Geelong for $2.5m, Stage 1 Warehouses in North Geelong for $1.5m, Alterations to Aged Care facility in St Albans Park for $1.5m, Stage 2 of Geelong DTF in Moorabool St for $1.4 m, Demolition of Buildings at ALCOA for $1.3m, Fit out of Offices in Belmont for $1m.
