Monthly building activity is split into total domestic, new dwellings and total non-domestic building activity.


 

Domestic building activity – City of Greater Geelong

Number and value of all domestic permits

A total of 403 domestic permits were issued in the City of Greater Geelong in April 2017, a decrease of 8.2% compared to the previous month and a decrease of 5.4% compared to April 2016.

The value of domestic permits in April 2017 was $70.1m, a decrease of 15.1% compared to the previous month and a decrease of 11.5% compared to April 2016.

Number and value of new dwelling approvals

A total of 200 new dwelling approvals were issued in the City of Greater Geelong in April 2017, a decrease of 13.8% compared to the previous month and a decrease of 14.5% compared to April 2016.

The value of new dwelling approvals in April 2017 was $57m, a decrease of 19.7% compared to the previous month and a decrease of 17.4% compared to April 2017.

Non-domestic building activity – City of Greater Geelong

Number and value of non-domestic building permits

A total of 56 non-domestic building permits were issued in the City of Greater Geelong in April 2017, a inrease of 5.7% compared to the previous month and an increase of 27.3% compared to April 2016.

The value of non-domestic building permits was $32.7m in April 2017, a decrease of 51.6% compared to the previous month and a decrease of 8.7% compared to April 2016.

The larger value permits for April were; University building refurbishment for $7.1m, Simonds Stadium redevelopment for $4.5m, Restaurant renovation and extension for $3.6m, Service Station for $3.1m, Supermarket Alterations for $1.4m, School for $1.06m, 7 units for $1.05m.
