Philippa Bakes is a Chartered Accountant by background. She worked for the early part of her career with PwC in the UK, predominantly helping clients contemplating the acquisition or disposal of a business. She also worked with PwC in Hong Kong for two years, helping clients make acquisitions in China. In 2005 she moved to PwC Melbourne and helped to advise some of Australia's largest public companies such as Telstra and ANZ on major transactions including cross border deals. Philippa now runs her own small business, helping local businesses in Geelong and the Bellarine with growth, both organic and by acquisition, and with maximising value on exit.
